Actress Jennifer Tilly Isn’t ‘A Model Size,’ So Gucci Customized Her Dress

Not a size zero? No problem, says actress Jennifer Tilly.

She attended L.A.’s annual Museum of Contemporary Art gala on Saturday night in a stunning Gucci dress, which took time to create.

“I ordered it for the Oscars. I was supposed to have it in November/December and I just got it a week ago,” she told Yahoo Style at the event. “They had to make it a special size for me because I am not a model size. So I can’t fit into model dresses.”

The Cult of Chucky star plans to repurpose it for a Bulgari event in July and will wear it one additional time before it gets pushed into the back of her closet. “I’m going to get my cost per wearing out of it,” she proclaimed. Eco-fashion guru Livia Firth, the champion of repurposing clothing instead of always buying new stuff, would be proud.

Tilly dipped into her vintage jewelry collection for her ruby earrings and Buccellati ring that she paired with the frock. The Canadian-American actress has a jewelry collection that would put much of Hollywood to shame.

“I have a brooch that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor,” she explains. “I just got a necklace that belonged to Norma Shearer. And I have a charm bracelet that belonged to Joan Crawford that has little Oscars on it and all her lovers’ names engraved on the backs of the charms. So it’s pretty interesting.”

But don’t go getting any ideas about raiding the star’s closet anytime soon. Tilly keeps her collection safely stashed in a bank vault. “When I have an event, I’m like, ‘Hmm. Maybe those ruby earrings?’ and then I drive to the bank and I get them out,” she said, while pointing to her choice of ear candy for the evening.

After posing for photos on step and repeat, Paris Hilton gave her boyfriend Chris Zylka a sweet “I love you.” She then raved about him to Yahoo Style, calling him her soulmate and deeming him “the one.”

The reality star turned business mogul rocked a Self-Portrait dress, which she said her man helped pick out. “I tried on, like, 20 different gowns and dresses. He said this would be perfect, so I always listen to him because he’s the only guy I care about what I look like for,” she said.

The 36-year-old revealed that she and her better half are living together and that they haven’t spent a single day apart since linking up four months ago. “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world,” she said. “I’m so happy and blessed.” Next up for the star is the launch of new additions to her shoe line. She is shooting the campaign at her home on Tuesday.

Inside the pre-gala cocktail party, which took place in the courtyard of the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA and honored artist Jeff Koons, Patricia Arquette wore shades (in the dark) and enjoyed a smoke while chatting with boyfriend Eric White and friends. Ricky Martin also puffed away on a cigarette while enjoying a date night with fiancé Jwan Yosef. Sean Penn mingled with guests, Pierce Brosnan clung tightly to the hand of his wife, and Ryan Seacrest arrived with Shayna Taylor, proving that the on-and-off-again couple must now be back on.
