A Black Hawk for When You're in a Black Hawk

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear. We do not, we repeat, do not recommend drinking while riding shotgun in a helicopter.

You’ll spill your drink. You’ll feel queasy. You won’t look half as cool as you think you do.

Unless your name is Frank Sinatra. Frank, if this photo is to be believed, had some experience in the drinking-in-a-helicopter department. (Despite searching high and low, the backstory to the above image is nowhere to be found. But isn’t it cooler and more mysterious without the story?)

But if you must drink in a helicopter, let the drink be a Black Hawk cocktail. It’s a boozy number thanks to whisky and sloe gin, which may help you forget the fact that you’re flying a dizzying 4,000 feet above Earth. A touch of fresh lemon smooths out the spirits’ harsher elements.

It tastes best (we imagine) when sipped in a Black Hawk helicopter alongside Frank Sinatra.
