9 Reasons People Don’t Have Sex on Their Wedding Night

Bad news, brides: You’re most likely not getting laid on your wedding night because of your man’s drunk d.

According to a U.K. financial planning website, less than half (48 percent) of newlyweds actually consummate the marriage on their wedding night. The reasons why? Well, they’re pretty obvious:

Groom too drunk (24%)

Bride too tired (16%)

Bride too drunk (13%)

Had to watch kids (11%)

Had fight before reception ended (9%)

Needed to leave for honeymoon (9%)

Pulled an all-nighter partying (7%)

Groom too tired (4%)

Neither felt like it (4%)

So, too drunk to get down and also tired as hell. Which, honestly, makes sense. Let’s be real, the majority of couples getting married have already been around the block in the bedroom together, so the rush to finally do it on their wedding night isn’t nearly as intense. Plus, weddings, as beautiful and lovely as they can be, are stressful and exhausting events that lead people to drink all the alcohol and then sleep for two days afterward. What could be more romantic? (Don’t answer that.)
