8 Reasons We Think "Vintage Savannah" Is Going to Be HGTV's Next Big Hit

From Country Living

HGTV is turning the spotlight on one of our favorite Southern towns, and we couldn't be happier about it. Savannah, Georgia is the star of its newest pilot, Vintage Savannah, which follows interior designers Leah Bailey and Linn Gresham as they restore historic homes in the charming city.

The two 30-minute pilots aired on September 15, but we can't get enough. Didn't get a chance to watch? HGTV will be airing both episodes again soon, so stay tuned to your local listings.

For now, here's what you need to know about Leah and Linn, and what you can do to get the show picked up as an official series. We're rooting for you, Vintage Savannah!

1. The design duo are true Southern girls.

Leah is originally from Savannah, while Linn relocated from Birmingham, Alabama. Both women graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

2. Leah and Linn are best friends.

While it's easy to fall for a beautiful city like Savannah, you might also find yourself falling in love with the designers' quirky personalities. "I pick on [Linn]," Leah joking told WTOC. "You haven't seen that yet, but our chemistry is amazing."

3. TV execs loved the show's concept so much, they developed it in a matter of weeks.

"You don't get to decide when an opportunity happens," Linn told Savannah Now. "It happened organically through a friend in the TV industry who knew what we were doing in Savannah, and we were intrigued by it." Less than a month later, HGTV was hooked.

4. It's not just another real estate show.

If you've had your fill of home-buying shows on HGTV, Vintage Savannah would be the series for you. The homeowners featured on the show aren't interested in selling or flipping their properties. Since the houses are in historic areas of the city, the home's interiors often need a lot of work. "They bring us in as professional interior designers with restoration and renovation know-how, and we make things correct for them," says Leah. She and Linn then transform the home, layer by layer, into a contemporary beauty.

5. Their renovations are always stunning.

Leah and Linn have worked on dozens of home projects, both as collaborators and as individual designers. If their previous work is any indication, the renovations on Vintage Savannah are bound to be gorgeous. Just look at some of Leah and Linn's past work:

6. While Leah and Linn make renovation look easy, 'Vintage Savannah' will show just how much work every home requires.

"It sometimes can be daunting what to do with an old home and make it work in [a homeowner's] current life," Linn told Savannah Now.

7. You'll fall in love with Savannah all over again.

From the stunning greenery to the charming trollies, there's so much to love about the Hostess City. Vintage Savannah will not only show you what makes the Southern escape such an American treasure, but you'll get a first-hand look into the city's rich history. Besides, when a city has views like this, it deserves its own show.
