6 Behind-the-Scenes People Who Make Fashion Week Work

New York fashion week officially starts tomorrow: a seven-day celebration of excess, celebrity, and pretty clothes — oh, and arte, too (thanks, Givenchy). But while those star-studded front rows may get all the press, there's a not-so-small army of people stationed behind the scenes who really make the whole thing work.

They’re not the Anna Wintours, the Marc Jacobs, or the Kendall Jenners (though they’re important too). We’re talking about the guy who’ll drive you from the Public School show at Moynihan Station midtown, to Derek Lam all the way down in Tribeca in the 15 minutes you have between shows. Or the intern who spent eight hours stuffing your swag bag with goodies. Or the chef who lovingly crafts the sweets that editors routinely ignore at presentations — and which you gleefully will stuff in your bag. (Oh, that’s just us? OK.) Here, meet six unsung heroes who bring us the delightfully absurd spectacle known as fashion week.
