Amal Alamuddin built an epic designer wardrobe for her wedding weekend in Venice. She wore a red and black Alexander McQueen dress the night before the wedding, and she worked with the late Oscar de la Renta to design two trend-setting gowns that have already begun influencing brides worldwide. To the ceremony, she wore a French lace, off-the-shoulder beaded tulle gown with a grand circle train, featuring 14-yards of Chantilly lace appliqués hand-embellished with embroidery and beading.“George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can’t imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress,” the bride told VOGUE magazine.“Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman.” Amal changed into a flapper-style mini dress with fringe beading from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2014 collection for the reception, shortened to ensure the bride could dance the night away. And like many brides and grooms, the Clooneys hosted a post-wedding brunch for their guests the day after the wedding. The new Mrs. Clooney wore a white lace high-low dress with pastel floral embroidery by Giambattista Valli Couture. The newlywed channeled Bianca Jagger’s iconic 1971 wedding-day look in a custom Stella McCartney ensemble with palazzo pants, a short-sleeved top, and wide-brimmed hat for the final event, a civil ceremony.
2014 may be remembered as the year of the celebrity wedding. Many of the world’s “Sexiest Men Alive” tied the knot with some of the most beautiful women, there were weddings for couples who have been together for years (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson), and whirlwind courtships that surprised pretty much everyone (George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin).
And it wasn’t just the beautiful couples that caught our attention, but the stunning wedding dresses and tuxedos these A-list brides and grooms chose to wear on their big day. There was classic white, but also blush pink, metallic gold and silver, and fashion-forward looks like jumpsuits—yes the ‘70s are back! Even the men’s fashion choices ranged from tuxedos in traditional black, grey and white, to more casual suits worn with and without a tie.

Our final 2024 mock draft projects four quarterbacks in the first five picks, but the Cardinals at No. 4 might represent the key pivot point of the entire board.
