Report: WWE Hall of Famer 'Luscious' Johnny Valiant killed after being hit by a truck

Thomas Sullivan, aka “Luscious” Johnny Valiant, is dead after a pickup truck hit him in Ross Township, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

Valiant, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996, was 71.

Police said that Valiant ran across a busy road, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by the truck, WXPI reports. The driver of the truck remained at the scene, according to the report.

Valiant won multiple tag-team titles as a member of the Valiant brothers in the 1970s. The Valiant brothers, with bleach-blond hair and flamboyant style helped usher in an outrageous brand of wrestling that took over in the 80s, according to their WWE bio.

Valiant also managed Hulk Hogan and prominent 80s tag-teams before working as a color commentator for WWE broadcasts.

WWE and professional wrestlers expressed their appreciation for Valiant on Twitter.
