Wife of Raiders coach fires back at President Trump after Marshawn Lynch tweet
At least one member of the Oakland Raiders organization isn’t happy with President Donald Trump.
Linda Del Rio, wife of head coach Jack Del Rio, tweeted on Monday that she voted for Trump last November, a ballot she now regrets casting. The tweet came hours after the president called for the suspension of Marshawn Lynch, who sat for the U.S. national anthem and stood during the Mexican national anthem before the team’s loss to the New England Patriots in Mexico City on Sunday.
“President Trump I voted for you, which I now regret,” Del Rio wrote. “Football is a powerful platform – here’s the charitable work we did in Mexico City. #NFLProud.”
Del Rio also posted picture of the volunteer work the Jack Del Rio Foundation did over the weekend.

Last year’s contributions from the @JackDelRioFdtn, @nflmx and @RAIDERS were used for new athletic uniforms. This year we are excited to help fund @ManoAmigaMx’s efforts to renovate sports fields. #SomethingGreaterThanSelf pic.twitter.com/yP8X8pMs3I

Linda Del Rio also directly responded to Trump’s tweet about Lynch.
“Take more time being president of the United States and less time trying to shame,” she wrote.

The president had not yet responded to either tweet at the time this blog was posted.
“Yet,” of course, being the operative word there.
