WATCH: This former Gators kicker hits his second game-winner of the season

Former Florida kicker Evan McPherson, who was the most accurate kicker in SEC history over his three years as a starter, continues to make the Cincinnati Bengals look smart for using a fifth-round pick on him in the 2021 NFL draft.

The rookie has already hit one game-winning field goal this season, which came in overtime in the first game of his career against the Minnesota Vikings, and on Thursday night, McPherson completed a Bengals comeback with a 35-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jags led 14-0 at halftime, and Cincinnati didn’t lead until the game was over.

The Bengals now move to 3-1 on the year largely thanks to McPherson’s leg, and though he missed his first try against Jacksonville (which was his first miss of the season), he’s still 4 of 5 on field-goal attempts and his perfect on PATs.

It’s always a bold move to use a draft pick on a specialist, but a reliable kicker who comes up clutch in situations like this is easily worth spending a late-round pick on.
