WATCH: Celtics 2020 draft point guard stash Yam Madar scores 26 vs. Hapoel Eilat

The Boston Celtics have stashed plenty of players in the past, but few have looked better in their time away from the franchise that drafted them than Israeli floor general Yam Madar.

Drafted by the Celtics in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft with the 47th overall pick, some assumed Madar to be a throwaway selection to avoid taking on salary and a roster spot. But the Beit Dagan native has proven to be anything but that, pushing to get out of his current contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier Basketball League at the end of this season.

Madar’s recent play against Hapoel Eilat in particular serves as an example of why he is such an intriguing prospect for the Celtics.

Putting up a season-high 25 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block in 35 minutes of playing time, the Israeli helped secure a 108 – 93 win for his team.

Watch the highlights embedded above produced by Tomasz Kordylewski, and you’ll probably be as impatient as Madar is to see him in the NBA.
