Vikings narrow head coach search to at least three finalists

The Minnesota Vikings are getting ready for their second round of interviews for their vacant head coach position this week. A couple of the names floating around have been there for a while with at least one surprise being thrown in as well.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team is expected to conduct another interview with San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell. And there might still be unfinished business from a conversation that reportedly took place on Saturday between the Vikings and Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.

Pelissero said it “wouldn’t be a surprise” if Harbaugh made a visit.

The one big connection between all of the candidates is the fact that they have at least some kind of a working relationship with newly-hired general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah during his time in San Francisco.

So it would seem as if Mark and Zygi Wilf are really handing the reins over to their new GM when it comes to the hiring process.
