Tyson Fury has confirmed his rematch with Deontay Wilder will go ahead as planned in Las Vegas on 22 February.

The pair first met in December 2018 with a controversial draw denying the Briton, who thoroughly outboxed the WBC world heavyweight champion despite suffering two knockdowns.

Fury narrowly beat a 10 count in the final round to go the distance with the fearsome Alabaman and will now have his chance at redemption and becoming a two-time world heavyweight champion next year.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena will host the contest next year, with Fury vowing to knock his opponent out this time.

Fury tweeted: “It’s on! February 22 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, watch me knock out Deontay Wilder AKA The Big Dosser.”

The 31-year-old added in a statement: “There’s no more ducking and diving. The date has been set, and the ‘Bomb Squad’ is about to be securely detonated and the real champion crowned as the world watches on for the most anticipated fight in years.

“This is unfinished business for me, but come February 22, this dosser will finally get what’s coming to him, and I can’t wait!”

Wilder responded in a tweet of his own: “After February 22 there will be no more unanswered questions.

“I will finish what I started, and this time Tyson Fury will not be getting up off that canvas so quickly. I’ve proven myself time and time again and I will do it again in February #WilderFury2.”
