Tom Brady proves he's still a Michigan Man at heart with gift to OSU's Chase Young

Tom Brady is two decades removed from his time in Ann Arbor, but he’s still a Michigan Man, through and through.

Just ask Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young.

Young was drafted out by Washington out of Ohio State with the No. 2 overall pick in April and is a favorite to take home the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award next month.

Still, he had Brady (and, by extension, Michigan) on his mind when Washington clinched a playoff berth in the final game, declaring, “I want Tom!”

Young didn’t bring Brady down in the Bucs’ 31-23 win over Washington in the wild-card round, but he got close enough to request Brady’s jersey after the game (properly cleaned, of course, in the coronavirus age).

As the two exchanged postgame words of respect, Brady promised to get his jersey to Young.

And the ex-Wolverine delivered, autographing a No. 12 Bucs jersey with “Best of Luck!” and, naturally, “Go Blue!”

Young didn’t seem to mind the pro-Maize-and-Blue propaganda, though, posting shots of the jersey on social media and tagging Brady.

Makes sense, too. After all, Young could inscribe “3-17” on a jersey for Brady. That’s the Wolverines’ record against the Buckeyes since Brady left for the NFL after the 1999 season.
