Tom Brady addresses his 11-day absence from Bucs

It’s extremely rare for a starting quarterback in the NFL to take a couple of weeks away from his team in the middle of training camp.

Tom Brady is extremely rare, which is why his decision to take 11 days away from the team for personal reasons didn’t seem to bother anyone at One Buc Place.

Brady returned after Tampa Bay’s second preseason game, just as head coach Todd Bowles said he would, and saw his first exhibition action on the first series of Saturday night’s 27-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

After the game, Brady spoke to the media for the first time since returning from his extended absence (via The Athletic’s Greg Auman, tweet contains profanity):

Brady didn’t look rusty in practice once he returned, and that remained true Saturday night, as he completed six of his eight passes for 44 yards on the opening drive.

Now, the GOAT turns his attention to a Week 1 road trip against the Dallas Cowboys to kick off the regular season.
