Three QBs to stream before your team vanishes like the Utah Monolith | The Fantasy Rush

Jared was about to clinch a spot in the playoffs when Daniel Jones pulled up lame. He now faces a must-win matchup in the last week of the regular season, but without the quarterback who got him there. In the twelfth episode of The Fantasy Rush, Yahoo Sports Fantasy Expert Liz Loza highlights three quarterbacks who may (or may not) be good targets to stream, praises one of the best players on history’s worst first place team, and pulls back the curtain to reveal the true origin of the mysterious Utah Monolith.

KENDALL HINTON: Just, you know, how I planned out in my dreams. But you know, it usually doesn't work out how you want it. And so just getting this opportunity and this experience has been amazing.

JARED QUAY: I've been waiting my whole life for aliens to make contact. And last week, when they found that monolith in Utah out of nowhere, I thought it was about to happen. But just like that, it vanished without a trace. Kind of like the playoff hopes for one of my favorite fantasy teams. Check it.

All right. Most of my squads are going to the big dance. But where is that one-- oh! There we go. Them aliens, man. We was about to win this week and clinch a playoff spot. But then Daniel Jones pulled up lame, and before I knew it, I lost the match-up, making next week a must win.

If I'm gonna sneak into that last playoff spot, I'm gonna need to find a quarterback to stream. And like always, some help at flex would not hurt. But you know what else wouldn't hurt? A little bit of fantasy advice from my co-host and Yahoo fantasy expert Liz Loza.

LIZ LOZA: There are many things about 2020 that are tough to swallow. But perhaps this one fact is the most unbelievable of all. The end of the fantasy regular season is next week.

JARED QUAY: That is [BLEEP] up.

LIZ LOZA: If you're like Jared, and need a win in week 13 to sneak into the playoffs, I can help.

In the week 12 game between Denver and New Orleans, both teams started a quarterback who makes his living at another position. I'll first mention Kendall Hinton's game, just to acknowledge that it happened, and we all pray that the Broncos never put him in that position again.

Across the field, though, his counterpart fared much better. Taysom Hill led the Saints to a win for the second straight week. And at this point, Drew Brees's backup isn't the best kept secret in the NFL anymore. He's just a good running back who's an OK quarterback. He's also already rostered in 60% of fantasy leagues. So even if you wanted to grab him, you might need to settle for some magic instead.

Ryan Fitzpatrick appears to be the current starter in Miami. Now, whether that's because Tua is really hurt or just benched shouldn't matter to you.

JARED QUAY: What does matter?

LIZ LOZA: That next week, Miami gets Cincinnati, which is a great match-up. Plus, he's available in 80% of Yahoo leagues. But if for some reason you whiff on both, I suggest looking to the Big Apple.

JARED QUAY: To Sam Darnold?

LIZ LOZA: No, of course not. Colt McCoy!

JARED QUAY: Poor Sam Darnold.

LIZ LOZA: After hurting his hamstring, Daniel Jones will almost certainly miss a few games, giving Colt a tasty match-up against Seattle in week 13. And it goes without saying he is very widely available.

JARED QUAY: Even Colt's mom didn't draft him.

LIZ LOZA: Look, start him if you want. But be honest about what he is-- a desperation play with an intriguing match-up. You just have to ask yourself, how desperate are you?

As long as we're talking about the 4 and 7 Giants, there's one thing about them more amazing than the fact that their kicker had to train in a hotel room all last week because of COVID protocol. You know what it is, Jared?

JARED QUAY: They're in first place!

LIZ LOZA: Mhm. And a big reason why is because of running back Wayne Gallman who, by the way, was one of my deep sleepers heading into week 12. That's where I said he was the overlooked and underappreciated best friend in every rom-com. I can relate.

JARED QUAY: Like Jason Alexander in "Shallow Hal."

LIZ LOZA: OK. I'll take your word for it. He was under the Giants' nose the whole time, living in Saquon's shadow. But now, with Barkley out, he's scored six times in the last five games. Going forward, the match-ups get a little bit tougher for Gallman, with Seattle, Arizona, Cleveland, and whoever is left to lineup for the Ravens.

JARED QUAY: Get well soon, Calais.

LIZ LOZA: Nevertheless, Gallman has produced all season on a subpar offense and behind a bottom ranked offensive line. That's worth something.

Just as quickly as the Utah monolith appeared, it disappeared. And Twitter detectives spent the weekend trying to figure out where it went. But not me.

JARED QUAY: You don't want to know?

LIZ LOZA: Oh, I already know. The so-called professional sculpture artist who put it there took it back to the trash heap he or she stole it from.

JARED QUAY: You don't think it was them aliens?

LIZ LOZA: You think they created interstellar travel just to drop a piece of boring modern art in the middle of a desert?

JARED QUAY: Come on, Liz. You gotta admit, it is weird.

LIZ LOZA: Weird doesn't mean aliens, Jared. Hell! Greg can make a monolith appear in his sleep. He eats monoliths for breakfast. Watch!

JARED QUAY: Aw, come on, Liz. You know this ain't the same.

LIZ LOZA: How about two? Is that twice as weird?

JARED QUAY: Real funny, Greg. There's two.

LIZ LOZA: OK, how about five?

JARED QUAY: All right, guys. That's enough.

LIZ LOZA: 10!

JARED QUAY: Don't do this again, Liz.

LIZ LOZA: Perfect, Greg. Can you give me monolith glasses?

JARED QUAY: Them aliens is not going to be happy with you, Liz. And trust me, they watching. This is probably like a holy statue you messing with too.
