Texas WR target Jordan Hudson commits to TCU

Four-star wide receiver Jordan Hudson has committed to TCU.

Hudson originally committed to Sonny Dykes and staff at SMU late in the summer. With TCU hiring Dykes away from the mustangs, Hudson will join him in the move to Fort Worth.

Hudson is the second wide receiver target that Texas has missed out on this week, joining five-star Evan Stewart.

247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks was high on Hudson’s potential in his evaluation:

Shows spatial awareness and is cognizant of where he relates to defenders and the sideline. Good run-after-catch player with impressive short-area suddenness. Strings together moves in the open field. Effective chain-mover in the short-to-intermediate passing game. Encouraging ability to leverage DB’s into breaks on shorter routes.

Texas needs playmakers at wide receiver in a major way. Brenen Thompson is the lone wideout commit for the 2022 class after Texas saw Armani Winfield decommit, Evan Stewart choose Texas A&M and Hudson pick TCU.

Wide receiver coach Andre Coleman has done a great job with the development of Xavier Worthy but needs to improve as a recruiter.

Sarkisian and Coleman will have to look in the transfer portal for immediate impact players at wide receiver.
