Tennessee repeats as SEC All-Sports champion. Here's the final tally
Tennessee won its second straight SEC All-Sports title, presented by USA TODAY Network, by finishing atop the 2022-23 standings in both the men’s and women’s sports.
A year ago, the Vols won their first SEC overall title. Now they’ve repeated as champions. The surge coincides with athletics director Danny White’s two-year tenure.
"I'm so proud of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and all the fans and donors who support us," White said in a school release. "This is a team accomplishment, and everyone plays an important role. We are just getting started on Rocky Top, but this early success gives us the confidence to keep building!"
Tennessee scored 158 points, followed by Florida (141), Georgia (135) and Alabama (128) in the overall standings. Those top four schools finished in the same order in points percentage, which takes into account the number of sports that school competes in.

In terms of all sports, Tennessee has recently supplanted Florida as the SEC frontrunner. The Gators had won 29 SEC All-Sports titles in the past 39 years. And Florida had been the only school to sweep the men's and women's titles until Tennessee did it this year.
This is the third year the SEC All-Sports award has been presented by the USA TODAY Network, the nation’s largest local-to-national digital media organization.
The league tabulated the SEC All-Sports totals until the 1994-95 season, and then media outlets took it over.
The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group gave the award from the 1994-95 through 2010-11 seasons, The award was later given by The Halifax Media Group and GateHouse Media until the USA Today Network began presenting the award in the 2020-21 season.
