Social media reaction to Ben Joyce throwing 105.5 mph, fastest pitch in college baseball history
The Vols won, 17-4, in Friday’s game No. 1 of the series. Auburn defeated Tennessee, 8-6, in game No. 2 on Saturday.
Tennessee has won every Southeastern Conference series in 2022.
The Vols have recorded series sweeps against South Carolina, at Ole Miss, at Vanderbilt, Missouri and at Florida. Tennessee won two of three games against Alabama and Auburn.
During the contest, Ben Joyce pitched four innings in relief. Joyce recorded the win, while totaling six strikeouts and giving up one hit and zero runs.
He faced 12 batters and totaled 53 pitches with 37 strikes. The University of Tennessee announced Joyce recorded a pitch of 105.5 miles per hour in the contest.
