Report: Tyreek Hill called 911 after seeing fiancee passed out at house on April 1
Suspended Kansas City Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill made a call to first responders to report that his fiancee Crystal Espinal was passed out at the couple’s home on April 1.
KCTV5 in Kansas City played a portion of the call Hill made from a hotel room at the beginning of the month. Hill was staying at the hotel because of a no-contact order between him and the couple’s 3-year-old son that stemmed from a child abuse investigation.
Per the report, Hill made the call around 5 p.m. and told dispatchers that he saw Espinal passed out via cameras that had been installed in the home.
“Caller advising he’s currently at a hotel,” a dispatcher says in the audio played by the station. “He sees a female passed out. The female was watching the reporting party’s 3-year-old son. The 3-year-old is walking around with no one attending him. The female is 7 months pregnant.”
Four days later, the couple’s child was placed in the custody of a third party. The report also said Hill was alone at the April 5 emergency hearing where Espinal lost custody of the child because she was hospitalized. Espinal is pregnant with twins.
Investigation re-opened Friday
The child abuse investigation into the cause of the 3-year-old’s broken arm was re-opened last week by Johnson County, Kansas prosecutors after the same station released audio of a conversation between Espinal and Hill. In it, Hill says Espinal needs to be terrified of him and Espinal states their son had told investigators that “daddy did it.”
The Chiefs suspended Hill from all team activities after the audio was released. The NFL could reportedly soon place Hill on the commissioner’s exempt list.
The call from Hill to police came after two police reports were filed in March. A report dated March 5 was for child abuse and neglect and a report dated March 14 was for battery. The March 5 report was closed shortly after it was filed while the March 14 report served as the basis for the investigation that was re-opened.
