Report: ‘Belief’ Bills to play Josh Allen, starters vs. Dolphins

Who’s going to play for the Buffalo Bills vs. the Miami Dolphins? Who knows. Not even ESPN’s Jeremey Fowler sounds very confident about a report made on Saturday.

But Per Fowler, the Bills (12-3) will play some of their starters, including quarterback Josh Allen, on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins (10-5) in the team’s season finale:

The report sounds on par with such a maneuver the Bills would do Sunday’s scenario consider the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture is on the line for the team. Buffalo is attempting to win and hold off the Pittsburgh Steelers for that spot in the upcoming postseason.

If the Steelers (12-3) win against the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo loses to the Dolphins, the Bills drop to the No. 3 seed and the Steelers jump to second. But as all things are in 2020 (or at least the 2020 NFL season), nothing comes too straight forward.

The Steelers already announced they’ll sit numerous starters in Week 17, however, the Browns are going through a battle of COVID-19 in their locker room. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott & Co. might figure the safest bet is to just go ahead and play their starters vs. Miami anyway.

We’re just a few hours away from finding out the answer to this question.

For what it’s worth, the Dolphins need a win to get into the upcoming postseason.
