Rams free agent Jonah Williams visiting the Vikings

The Los Angeles Rams haven’t suffered many losses in free agency thus far, only seeing Jordan Fuller and Coleman Shelton sign with other teams. Another player is weighing his options and could be on his way out, though.

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Monday that Jonah Williams has begun his free-agent visit with the team. It’s the only reported visit for Williams so far, but it could be a good landing spot for him.

The Vikings are seeking defensive line help and head coach Kevin O’Connell has some familiarity with Williams from their time with the Rams. Special teams coordinator Matt Daniels, offensive coordinator Wes Phillips and defensive line coach Marcus Dixon were also on the Rams’ staff when Williams was there.

Williams spent the last three years with the Rams. He was signed as an undrafted rookie in 2020 and was waived before the 2021 season. He was actually claimed by the Vikings but he failed his physical, so he didn’t end up signing with them.

Last season in Los Angeles, he played all 17 games and made 16 starts, recording two sacks and 49 tackles (four for a loss).
