On3’s ‘prediction machine’ gives Alabama the edge in QB Arch Manning’s recruitment

Nick Saban and Alabama have had their eyes on 2023’s No. 1 overall prospect and five-star QB Arch Manning, yes, from the very same line of Manning’s you’re accustomed to, for quite a while now.

The recruiting process of Manning has been a stressful one for Crimson Tide fans, let alone the coaching staff.

The 6-4, 215-pound quarterback would be welcomed with open arms by any school in the country based on talent alone. However, with his Manning surname comes plenty of scrutiny and attention, perhaps the most in the history of modern college football recruiting.

On Tuesday, On3 released its latest prediction machine update for Arch. Alabama has emerged as the new favorite. On3 gives the Crimson Tide a 30.1 percent chance of landing the five-star quarterback.

Georgia, however, isn’t too far behind. The Bulldogs sit second at 24.9 percent. Texas (19.6 percent), Ole Miss (12.9 percent) and Clemson (four percent), round out the prediction’s top five.

For the Tide, landing a QB like Manning would be a huge addition. It’s likely inevitable that 2021’s Heisman Trophy-winning QB Bryce Young will leave the Capstone following his junior season, opening the door for Arch to contribute at least a couple of solid years as a starter, given his development isn’t hindered by injury or other elements.
