Notre Dame pulls trigger, offers Baylor 2023 quarterback commitment

A few weeks ago during the Elite 11 Finals, Baylor quarterback commit Austin Novosad mentioned to reporters that he wanted Notre Dame to reach out. Well, that has happened and not only that, the Irish offered Novosad a scholarship earlier this evening.

The six-foot-three-inch and 185-pound Texan has been committed to Baylor since December of last year, but that has not stopped him from flirting with plenty of other schools in the recent months. It does seem that he would like to pursue different options and now Marcus Freeman has entered the chat as one. Although Novosad is still “committed” to the Bears, it does seem like the Irish have a legit shot to flip him.

Currently the Irish do not have a quarterback commit in the 2023 class and up until today, it didn’t seem like Novosad was a possibility. That has changed very quickly with the offer and it is a recruitment to monitor over the next few months.
