Las Vegas goes nuts over Oklahoma State's wild backdoor cover (Video)

Michigan got the second day of March Madness off to a fantastic start with a brilliant offensive performance against Oklahoma State. The Wolverines hit 11 of 15 second-half 3-pointers, scored 1.58 points per possession over the final 20 minutes, and held out for a win. D.J. Wilson clinched the victory with two free throws to put his team up four with 3.7 seconds left.

But for some people, the most important 3-pointer of the game was yet to come. That’s because Michigan was favored by 2.5 points in Vegas.

So when Oklahoma State’s Jawun Evans raced down the court and nailed a 28-footer to make the final score 92-91, neither Michigan nor Oklahoma State cared. But a lot of people out in the desert did:

While the reaction of bettors was split, sports books couldn’t have been more excited. With 68 percent of tickets and 74 percent of money on Michigan, according to Vegas Insider, they were ecstatic.

“That three was a day-changer for us,” Jay Rood, VP of race and sports at MGM Resorts International, told Yahoo Sports. “We would have been pushing the rock uphill all day if he does not make that 3.”

“Ticket count was 3-1 in favor of Michigan,” Rood said. “The money was 4-1 on Michigan.BIG game for us.”

Not that it will be any consolation for Evans, but as far as backdoor covers go, this is about as good as it gets.
