UFC Fight Night 45 Fighter Bonuses: Cowboy Tops $50,000 Bonus Winners

UFC president Dana White said that it was a “tough night to pick bonuses,” following Wednesday night’s UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City, N.J., but UFC officials managed the task.

Of the night’s 11 bouts, only two went to decision. Every fight on the main card was a finish, leaving UFC officials many options from which to select the $50,000 bonus winners.

At the end of the night, main card fighters won all of the bonuses.

The first Performance of the Night bonus was a no-brainer, as main eventer Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone laid out Jim Miller with a head kick KO. Not only did Cerrone win a bonus, he positioned himself well to earn another top contender in his quest to eventually get a title shot.

The other Performance bonus went to Lucas Martins, who fought a back-and-forth battle with Alex White before finishing with a TKO stoppage midway through the third round.

Many had expected John Lineker and Alptekin Ozkilic to put on an exciting fight going into Wednesday night, and they didn’t disappoint.

Lineker eventually came out on top with a TKO stoppage, but it took him until there were just 9 ticks left on the clock in the final round, adding to the drama of a fight that saw both men laying it all on the line trying to secure the victory.
