Toledo Walleye players dressing like Pink Power Rangers (Photos)

Every year, hockey teams join the fight against breast cancer and stand up for women’s health issues with “Pink In The Rink” nights at the arena.

Sometimes that means a full sheet of pink ice. Mostly it means jerseys with pink accents.

The ECHL Toledo Walleye are playing on fan-painted ice this weekend, but they’re also going to rock these “Pink Power” jerseys as well.

Yes, “Pink Power.” While these completely resemble the Pink Power Ranger from “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” but these are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT we imagine given that the Walleye press release on the games makes no mention of a corporate tie-in with the upcoming film:

Join the Toledo Walleye this weekend as they celebrate their annual ‘Pink in the Rink’ weekend, presented by the Toledo Express Airport. The Walleye will take on the Kalamazoo Wings as they wear specialty ‘Pink Power’ jerseys while playing both games on fan-painted ice. Fans will be able to bid on game worn jerseys during a live auction following the game on Saturday, March 4.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Susan G. Komen of Northwest Ohio and the Walleye Wishing Well. NOTE: Auction winners will receive their pink specialty jerseys at a later date to be determined. Dress for the game! ‘Pink in the Rink’ merchandise including sweatshirts and t-shirts will be available for purchase in The Swamp Shop at the Huntington Center, starting on Monday, February 27.

Let’s power up! ‘Pink Power’ jerseys will be available for purchase on Saturday, March 4 starting at 10 A.M. Come early because these jerseys are sure to ‘go, go’ quick!

And another look…

(Yes, turns out there is a Tylor Spink on the team.)

No word if Zordon will announce the penalties, or if Rita Repulsa will sing the national anthem, or if Alpha-5 will be in the Pierre McGuire role, or if the Zamboni will dressed up like a Pterodactyl Dinozord, which as you know was the Zord of the Pink Ranger, who this totally isn’t.
