Texas Tech upsets No. 7 West Virginia with game-winning three in overtime (Video)

You thought a wild night of college basketball ended with a blatant travel that went uncalled and a Kansas buzzer-beater against Kansas State?

Well, you thought wrong. Texas Tech and West Virginia gave us 21 lead changes , 14 ties, THREE go-ahead or game-tying threes in the final minute, a court storm and a top-10 upset.

Anthony Livingston hit the most clutch of those three three-pointers with 4.6 seconds left in overtime to take down the 7th-ranked Mountaineers, 77-76:

The Red Raiders looked to have the game in the bag up five in the final minute of regulation. But Mountaineer freshman Lamont West sunk two free throws to cut the lead to one possession. Then Daxter Miles caught an air ball on West Virginia’s final possession of regulation, kicked out to Nathan Adrian, and the senior forward drilled a corner three to send the game to overtime.

Texas Tech again found itself with the lead late on in OT, but this time Tarik Phillip hit a high-arching long-range shot to put the Mountaineers up one — only to have Livingston outdo him at the other end 27 seconds later.

The Red Raiders are now 12-2 under first-year coach Chris Beard. West Virginia falls to 12-2 as well, but there’s no shame in losing any Big 12 road game, and especially not one against a Texas Tech team that is on the rise.

Texas Tech gets Kansas next on Saturday.
