Tennessee defensive lineman Derek Barnett announced via Twitter that he was leaving the Vols to enter the NFL draft.

During the Music City Bowl against Nebraska, Barnett became the Vols’ all-time sack leader with 33, passing Hall of Famer Reggie White. He had 13 sacks in 2016, including two in the bowl game.

Barnett has been a stalwart on the Vols’ defensive line from the day he stepped on campus. As a true freshman he had 10 sacks and 20.5 tackles-for-loss, which were both Tennessee freshman records. He followed that up with 10 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore.

Barnett is the third Vols to declare for the draft this offseason following receiver Josh Malone and running back Alvin Kamara.
