A report saying that P.J. Fleck is headed to Purdue is “untrue,” a source with knowledge of the situation told Yahoo Sports on Saturday.

Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com in Indianapolis reported that Fleck would “soon” be named coach of the Boilermakers. But a source said that the Western Michigan coach has not had any contact with other schools during the Broncos’ 12-0 season, and will not until the season is complete. Western Michigan plays in the Mid-American Conference championship Friday night in Detroit.

The 35-year-old Fleck is considered one of the hottest coaching candidates in the country after three years at WMU. Speculation on the Purdue job, which has been open for weeks, has centered on Fleck and former LSU coach Les Miles.
