Player ejected for hit on Penn State kicker Joey Julius for second week in a row (Video)
For the second week in a row, a player was ejected for a hit on Penn State kicker Joey Julius.
Julius, Penn State’s kickoff specialist, hasn’t been afraid to mix things up and delivered big hits against Kent State and Michigan earlier this year. Last week that drew the attention of Minnesota’s Jaylen Waters, who was ejected for a cheap shot after Julius booted the ball through the end zone.
On Saturday versus Maryland, Julius was unnecessarily drilled by Maryland’s Isaiah Davis.

This time, Julius kicked the ball out of bounds, so the play was essentially over when Davis hit him.

The play drew a 15-yard penalty, which offset Julius’ penalty for kicking the ball out of bounds. That allowed a re-kick, which Julius drilled through the back of the end zone for a touchback.
When you hit guys like this, you’re not going to be treated like a normal kicker.
