49er Bruce Miller beat 70-year-old allegedly with his own cane, charged with seven felonies
Tight end/fullback Bruce Miller already lost his job with the San Francisco 49ers for his behavior on Monday night, and now he has to face the music in the justice system.
On Thursday, prosecutors charged Miller with seven felonies and one misdemeanor after he allegedly assaulted two men in a Fisherman’s Wharf hotel on Monday.
Miller was arrested after stumbling into the hotel and assaulting a 70-year old man, allegedly with the man’s own cane, and the elderly man’s son. Both victims were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Surveillance video showed Miller bloody and inebriated at the time of the attack.

Because one of his victims is elderly, Miller faces some enhanced charges.
The full list of his felony charges: one count of assault with a deadly weapon, not a firearm (the alleged weapon is a cane); one count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury; one count of inflicting injury on an elder or dependent adult likely to cause great bodily injury; one count of battery with serious bodily injury; two counts of criminal threats; and one count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury. He was also charged with misdemeanor battery.
Miller also apparently got into an argument over brisket sandwiches at a restaurant a few hours before the assault, but there were no charges in connection with that incident.
Miller will be arraigned on Friday afternoon.
