Let’s all watch the 10 longest homers of the 2016 baseball season

If there’s one thing that should unite baseball fans, it’s a love of dingers. Sure, we might root for different teams or be divided about the DH rule or have different takes on bat flips, but show me a baseball fan who doesn’t appreciate a fantastic home run.

You can’t, can you?

With the 2016 season in the books, The Stew thought it was appropriate to collect the 10 longest homers of the season and let you watch them again and again and again. So just keep hitting repeat on that video above.

Here’s a rundown of the top 10, according to MLB’s Statcast data-tracking system. The list includes a couple names you probably would have never expected:

1. Giancarlo Stanton – 504 feet (Aug. 6)
2. Nelson Cruz – 493 feet (Sept. 24)
3. Nomar Mazara – 491 feet (May 25)
4. Mark Reynolds – 484 feet (July 21)
5. Tom Murphy – 482 feet (Sept. 4)
6. Ryon Healy – 480 feet (Sept. 15)
7. Giancarlo Stanton – 475 feet (May 6)
8. Franklin Gutierrez – 473 feet (May 21)
9. Edwin Incarnation – 471 feet (July 20)
10. Maikel Franco – 471 feet (July 10)

How does that compare to last season? Well, Kris Bryant topped the list with a 495 foot blast and Giancarlo Stanton was a beast, with three homers in the top 10.
