Khabib Nurmagomedov Feels He ‘Got Used' to Make Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez
Khabib Nurmagomedov feels like he got used to force Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez to “get on their knees and beg.”
While there are a lot of people jumping for joy after UFC officials announced that Alvarez vs. McGregor would headline UFC 205 on Nov. 12 in New York, Nurmagomedov isn't one of them.
Currently ranked No. 1 in the UFC's 155-pound division and sporting a spotless 23-0 record, Nurmagomedov was under the belief that he was the next challenger to Alvarez's belt. And why wouldn't he? After all, he had two bout agreements in front of him to fight the champ.

Following a tweet saying that McGregor would not be fighting Alvarez in New York, company president Dana White told UFC Tonight just last week that the UFC had issued Alvarez a bout agreement to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 205. As the report goes, Alvarez didn't sign the bout agreement by a specified deadline, so the UFC issued a second bout agreement for him to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 206 in Toronto in December.
Those are the two bout agreements that Nurmagomedov referred to in a tweet after the Alvarez vs. McGregor bout was revealed on Monday night.
I have two bout agreements that bullshit champ refuses to sign. I got used the whole time to make Conor and Eddie get on their knees and beg

It appears that the dealings with Nurmagomedov may have been a diversion, while the deal with Alvarez and McGregor came together. At least, Nurmagomedov seems to think so, saying, “I got used.”
Regardless of how the situation unfolded behind the scenes, Nurmagomedov had further words for Alvarez and McGregor, tweeting that they were afraid of him.
Just for the record @Ealvarezfight and @TheNotoriousMMA fear me I'm just a man. Your time will come to get my hands on you

In the meantime, No. 6 ranked lightweight Michael Johnson, fresh off of a UFC Fight Night headlining victory over Dustin Poirier, has launched a Twitter campaign to try and get a fight with Nurmagomedov. It could be the perfect match-up for the Russian fighter while he waits for Alvarez and McGregor to play out.
Alvarez vs. McGregor was the third title fight added to the UFC 205 fight card.
