Is Jeff Fisher Stubborn, Stupid, or just honest about Goff?

I don’t know if you’d describe Jeff Fisher as “emphatic” about sticking with Case Keenum. I’m no body language expert, but he looks more resigned to playing Keenum than anything else. As bad as his quarterback played today, and after that killer interception last week at Detroit, making a switch doesn’t seem entirely unreasonable.

Except to Jeff Fisher.

With the bye week upon us, and a lot of time for speculation and rumors, it all but seems logical that another loss would mean a quarterback switch. Especially if the quarterback was awful, as Keenum was today. But the one question no one can answer, the one HUGE unknown, is Jared Goff. Is Goff ready, not ready, or just not very good RIGHT NOW?

Ask much as Jeff Fisher Is due every criticism for a poor game plan, execution, team penalties, etc., he also knows if his top draft pick is ready to play for a bad offense anchored (barely), by an incredibly bad offensive line.

Worth noting, if you watched Jared Goff in the preseason, and on Hard Knocks, you saw a kid who wasn’t ready to be second on the depth chart, much less on top of it. Keenum gets the lion’s share of snaps in practice, so Goff isn’t getting much. Fisher sees this, knows it, and contrasts that information against a team still 3-4, and 2-1 in the division.

So is it stubborn, stupid, or just honest in not starting rookie Jared Goff. Maybe Fisher knows it just isn’t time yet.

Sometimes, the answer is more simple than you think.
