Georges St-Pierre Addresses Fighting Michael Bisping at UFC 206

Michael Bisping Backtracks on Georges St-Pierre Steroid Accusations

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping dropped a bomb on the MMA world recently, saying he had agreed to a fight with Georges St-Pierre at UFC 206. Now, St-Pierre is weighing in on the potential fight.

Bisping on Tuesday tweeted, “@GeorgesStPierre, we all want more money. But let's go, sign the papers. Give the people of Toronto what they want, be a hero! Let's go champ!”

He was, of course, referring to a fight between himself and St-Pierre, a fight that had been unsuccessfully negotiated prior to Bisping's title defense against Dan Henderson at UFC 204 in early October.

Bisping said that the UFC had “been negotiating this fight for the last few days,” and that he had verbally agreed to it.

Company president Dana White later shot it down, telling ESPN.com via text, “There is no Bisping vs. GSP fight in Toronto. I know Mike wants it, but it's not happening.”

On Tuesday, St-Pierre also weighed in on the potential fight, admitting that, while he had declared himself a free agent recently, he has made progress with new UFC owner Ari Emanuel and made amends with White. Despite re-opening the door to the Octagon, St-Pierre also shot down the idea of fighting Bisping on Dec. 10 in Toronto.

“Nothing would make me more happy in the world than to fight you in Toronto, Michael,” St-Pierre said in a video via Twitter. “Last week, I met with Ari and I made peace with Dana. I tried to resolve things, but unfortunately right now, it's not happening. Hopefully, things will change soon. Thank you.”
