Dansby Swanson takes errant throw to groin, forced to leave game
It’s not bad enough for Dansby Swanson that he’s learning about life in the big leagues on an Atlanta Braves team that’s piling up the losses. No, now the 2015 No. 1 overall pick has really taken one where it really hurts. Swanson was pulled from Atlanta’s game Monday night for an “undisclosed reason” before the fifth inning got underway.

What happened? A little digging reveals catcher Tyler Flowers’ errant throw during warmups following a pitching change in the fourth hit Swanson in a, erm, sensitive spot as he stood behind the mound.
Huddy suspects this errant throw by Flowers is why Beckham has replaced Dansby at SS in the 5th. pic.twitter.com/UiIR4uzo1i

Yikes. That didn’t look good. The Braves soon confirmed everyone’s worst fears: a right groin contusion for Swanson. Or in more common terms: a big ol’ bruise.
Mike Foltynewicz left tonight’s game with a left calf contusion. Dansby Swanson left the game with a right groin contusion.

There’s not much else left to be said other than we hope Swanson didn’t take a direct hit and that this injury doesn’t keep him off the field for too long.
