Mad Bets: Spence Jr. vs. Garcia Boxing Odds
Matt Gothard is joined by Kevin Iole to discuss the Welterweight Title Unification Bout between Errol Spence Jr. vs. Danny "Swift" Garcia this Saturday December 5.

MATT GOTHARD: Welcome back to "Mad Bets," everybody. We got some more boxing action for you this weekend. Errol Spence Jr, -400, the favorite against Danny "Swift" Garcia. Errol Spence is fighting for the first time since a massive car accident last year. However he's still the huge favorite in this. Kevin Iole's joining me. Kevin, do you think there's any value on Garcia in this one?
KEVIN IOLE: I think there's a ton of value on Garcia here. I'll tell you, if I was going to bet this fight, I would play Danny Garcia. He's 36-2. His only two losses were very questionable. He could be, easily 38-0. He lost to Shawn Porter. He lost to Keith Thurman by split decision. He could have easily won both of those fights. They were very close fights. He could be 38-0. He is a perennially underrated guy. He seems to fight down to his level of competition, but in Errol Spence he's fighting my number four pound for pound guy on the list and an elite fighter. I think you're going to see Danny raise his game here.
The question is, does he have enough to get it done? I think Spence will win the fight, but I have enough doubts about it that I would not want to lay 4-1 against Danny Garcia. So I will pass on this one. If you ask me which one I would bet, I would say I would bet Danny Garcia, but it's going to be a really fun fight.
MATT GOTHARD: Any thoughts on the distance? You think it'll go the distance or could end before then?
KEVIN IOLE: I think if you look at this, both of these guys have good chins. They've been in there with a lot of good opposition. I think it goes the 12 rounds, especially since the fact that Errol hasn't been active. I don't think he's going to have that ability to put the punches together to stop Garcia. Certainly Garcia could stop him, but I don't think so. So I think we'll see a decision in this fight. I think Spence is the better fighter by a little bit. I like the value though with the Garcia side.
