Johnny Manziel confirms split with wife Bre Tiesi
Johnny Manziel and his wife Bre Tiesi are splitting up. The 26-year-old Manziel confirmed the news, telling TMZ he’s “very sad” about that development.
There was speculation about a breakup after Tiesi deleted every picture of Manziel from her Instagram page. Tiesi reportedly claimed “vows were broken” in a now-deleted comment on Instagram, according to TMZ.
Manziel told TMZ he was sad about the split, and asked for privacy.
"This is all very, very personal and very sad," Manziel tells TMZ Sports.
"I appreciate everyone who has been so supportive of both of us and I would just ask that everyone respect our privacy at this difficult time."
"My hope is to put my head down and be allowed to focus on work and what is required of me on the football field."
After washing out of the NFL and CFL, Manziel made his AAF debut with the Memphis Express on Sunday. He was used sparingly, completing three passes for 48 yards. Manziel also rushed for 20 yards in the contest.
Manziel could be in for more playing time as the season goes on. At 2-5, the Express haven’t had a lot of success this season. Quarterback had been an issue earlier in the season, though Brandon Silvers turned in a strong performance for the Express during Sunday’s game.
