Hockey hero Hilary Knight shares a special moment with young female players
The party was raging in PyeongChang after the United States women’s hockey team beat Canada to win its first gold medal in 20 years on Thursday.
Yet star forward Hilary Knight was still able to find a moment in the middle of it all to connect with two young female players.
Check out these photos that a U.S Ski and Snowboard exec posted on Friday:
Lots of great images from the #Olympics2018 but seeing @HilaryKnight sneak out of the Team USA gold celebration to play hockey with kids on a neighboring rink ranks right up there (yep that’s a gold medal hanging around her neck). pic.twitter.com/2KS1a9mQZD

We don’t have too much additional context for the photos … not that any is necessary.
Hours after reaching the pinnacle of her sport, the gold-medal wearing Knight is helping the next generation of players and serving as a great role model. That’s a pretty cool thing considering that many members of this year’s team were that are when the 1998 team struck gold and holds those women up as inspiration.
Maybe it won’t be long until those girls in the rink are winning a gold of their own.
