Harold Perkins decommits from Texas A&M, set to visit LSU

The biggest news of the day just ahead of the final signing period is that LSU target Harold Perkins has decommitted from Texas A&M.

The Tigers have remained in contact with the No. 4 player in the country and No. 1 linebacker. Perkins is set to visit with LSU according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

LSU added one linebacker, DeMario Tolan, in the 2022 cycle. Perkins had LSU among his final three schools with Texas and Texas A&M before officially committing to the Aggies. He recently had visits with the Florida Gators but now the Tigers staff will take aim at the top linebacker of the class once again.

LSU is currently ranked as the No. 20 recruiting class with just one five-star signee, Will Campbell. The team is awaiting the decision of another Under Armour All-American with safety Jacoby Mathews. Both Mathews and Perkins are rated as five-star prospects. Both have the eye of new Florida head coach Billy Napier.

It is quite possible that both could end up at the same school. The Gators and Tigers are battling it out for both of these talented defenders. It remains to be seen if Brian Kelly and company can reel in Perkins but they will have their opportunity this weekend.
