Five-star ATH Terry Bussey discusses Texas and potentially playing WR

The Longhorns don’t have to look very far to find the best athlete in the class of 2024, as five-star Terry Bussey resides right in their backyard.

However, they aren’t the only program who badly wants the dynamic athlete that threw for over 2,000 yards, rushed for nearly 2,600 yards, and grabbed four interceptions.

Bussey ranks as the No. 1 athlete in the country and could realistically play any position at the next level. Based on a recent interview with On3, the Longhorns are now focusing on him as a receiver.

Bussey discussed his relationship with head coach Steve Sarkisian and touched on getting to know new wide receiver coach Chris Jackson.

“I’ve been talking to (Jackson) more recently, getting to know him better and building a relationship with him. Overall, he’s great, great. I think it helps, him coming from the NFL, because he knows what it looks like to get to that next level. They’ve been there and done that. I think it comes with a bunch of perks too.”

He is set to take an official visit to Oklahoma prior to coming to Austin, and has already taken a trip to Texas A&M.

Bussey is currently recovering from a knee injury with the expectation to be running by August. The goal is to return for the start of next season for Timpson’s Week 1 matchup against state-ranked Beckville.

As it stands right now, Texas holds just three commits in their 2024 class.
