Fan hospitalized after fall at Nissan Stadium during Titans' win against Patriots
A man was transported to the hospital after he fell through netting at Nissan Stadium on Sunday afternoon during the Tennessee Titans’ 34-10 win against the New England Patriots, according to the Tennessean.
The Nashville Fire Department received a call around 2:20 p.m. that said a man fell “from a balcony onto the concrete below,” according to the report. He was listed in critical but stable condition.
“At today’s game, an adult fan fell from the lower bowl seating area to the ground,” The Titans said in a statement. “The fan received attention from emergency personnel on the scene and was transported to a local hospital.”
The fall took place during the third quarter of the game on Sunday while cheerleaders were throwing shirts into the crowd. A shirt landed on logo netting in the stadium above the tunnel to the locker room.
“Next thing I saw was a guy falling through the netting,” an NFL employee told the Tennessean.
The Titans dominated the Patriots behind a stellar day from quarterback Marcus Mariota, who went 16-of-24 for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
