Dexter Lawrence, Leonard Williams were highest-graded Giants in Week 7

The New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in heartbreaking fashion on Thursday night, squandering an 11-point lead with under 5:00 remaining. And rather than moving up to the top of the NFC East, the Giants now fall back and their season is all but over.

The Giants have had plenty of losses in recent years, but this one arguably stings the worst. It’s something that will be felt for the remainder of this season and potentially beyond.

But there were a few bright spots — not that Giants fans want to hear it at this point — and defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence was chief among them.

Lawrence led the Giants with an overall grade of 86.6 courtesy of Pro Football Focus, which was followed up by fellow defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who checked in with an 82.4.

On the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who returned after a several-week absence, led the way with an overall grade of 78.4. Quarterback Daniel Jones trailed closely behind with a 75.5.

Tight end Evan Engram, who dropped what would have been the game-sealing catch, earned a 51.7.

The lowest-graded Giants on the night were cornerback Ryan Lewis, who earned an overall grade of 30.0 after allowing four receptions on eight targets, and running back Devonta Freeman, who posted a 33.1 and left the game with an ankle injury.

Rookie left tackle Andrew Thomas earned an overall grade of 56.0 and a pass protection grade of 32.5.
