Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury 2 full results: Fury regains belt with TKO stoppage

LAS VEGAS — Tyson Fury picked apart Deontay Wilder over seven rounds until Wilder’s corner could no longer let their fighter take the punishment and threw in the towel. With the win, Fury becomes the WBC heavyweight champion and improves his record to 30-0-1 with 21 KOs.

Wilder-Fury 2 main card results

Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) def. Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) via TKO in R7

  • Round 1: After epic ring walks by both men, the fight starts quickly. Fury went straight to the middle of the ring and started throwing. Wilder landed a right in the corner. Fury came back with a right and popped Wilder with a jab. Fury sticking to his word and pressing the action. Good exchange near the end. Fury’s round, 10-9.

  • Round 2: They fight at a fast past and each land hard rights. Fury’s jab is pushing Wilder back and having an impact. Wilder wings a right after Fury connected with a Fury. A right by Fury pushes Wilder into the ropes. Fury’s round, 10-9.

  • Round 3: Fury is jabbing effectively and controlling the fight by keeping Wilder away. Fury lands a flush right and Wilder goes down with 30 seconds left in the round. Wilder was in trouble. He got up and was unsteady but Fury couldn’t finish him. Fury’s round, 10-8.

  • Round 4: The fourth round was all Fury. Wilder did not seem to be fully recovered and Fury was battering him around the ring. He was using his jab a lot but mixed in plenty of right hands. Wilder looked very unsteady but survived the round. Fury’s round, 10-9.

  • Round 5: Wilder is in big trouble and is staggering around the ring. Fury dropped him with a body shot and he was in trouble when he got up. He had no legs under him. Fury’s round 10-8.

  • Round 6: The pace isn’t as intense in the sixth, but Fury is doing all the landing. Wilder’s not recovering and doesn’t seem to have hope of landing anything significant. Fury pins him in a corner and lands two rights. Fury’s round, 10-9.

  • Round 7: Fury gets Wilder in the corner and lands two big right hands. Wilder is in trouble and referee Kenny Bayless jumps in to stop it after Wilder’s corner throws in the towel. Fury by TKO in the seventh. - Kevin Iole
