D.J. Swearinger calls out Redskins' preparation, 'blah' practices, says losing isn't surprising
After a semi-promising start, the Washington Redskins’ 2017 season is unraveling. They’ve lost four of their past five, and six of eight. The latest setback was a 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers that was chock-full of mediocrity. Fans are, to say the least, displeased.
But one player isn’t surprised. Safety D.J. Swearinger spoke to media after the game and couldn’t stop repeating the word “blah.” Washington was practicing “blah.” It wasn’t prepared:

“It’s blah. Blah. We out here to practice blah. We gotta practice better. I’ve been saying it all year.”
When asked if that meant he wasn’t surprised by the continued losing, Swearinger shook his head, agreeing with the reporter.
“It’s not surprising at all to me. At all. If you don’t prepare well, you’re gonna fail. I don’t think we prepare well. … And it’s all of us, players and coaches.”
Not exactly a ringing endorsement of head coach Jay Gruden – who, with Washington now 5-8, is very much on the hot seat.
