Chad Johnson is using enormous tips to brag about the best games of his NFL career

Any waiters out there should be very happy if they see Chad Johnson, the receiver formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, walk through their doors.

The Cincinnati Bengals great has made it a habit in the last few years to hand out tips that match up with the stats of some of his greatest days on the field, then post a picture of the receipt on Twitter. Fortunately for the tips’ recipients, Johnson has racked more than 200 yards in a day multiple times, leading to tips like this one posted Thursday:

Even while doing good deeds, Chad Johnson has found a way to remain Chad Johnson. As documented by The Checkdown, he has done stuff like this multiple times.

The tips also aren’t specific to Johnson’s football career. Evidently, the 41-year-old is quite talented at the FIFA video game franchise.

Johnson has repeatedly signed Proverbs 11:25 while leaving his massive tips, a bible verse which seems pretty apt:

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

This readiness to give away money evidently goes back to as early as 2003, Johnson’s third NFL season. Following a lackluster 59-yard effort against the Buffalo Bills, Johnson claims he challenged himself by handing a $100,000 check to former Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski and telling him to cash it if he didn’t perform “up to par” the next game.

Johnson gashed the Baltimore Ravens for 130 yards and a touchdown the next game, leading the Bengals to a win against a defense that ranked fourth in the league in passing yards allowed that season. You can only wonder if there are a few checks with $130 tips lying around out there.
