Danny MacAskill tackles unbelievable terrain in Scotland on mountain bike

Danny MacAskill is no stranger to viral videos. The 28-year-old trials cyclist is a legitimate YouTube star, with a number of his videos having views well into the millions. But the one terrain the Scotland native had yet to conquer on film was the Cuillin Ridge near where he grew up on the Isle of Skye. Thanks to the latest work by Cut Media, MacAskill has checked that off the list too. "The Ridge," a seven-minute masterpiece created by fellow Scot Stu Thomson, depicts MacAskill tackling a never-before-ridden trail that features sheer cliffs, rugged peaks and breathtaking views. And when the landscape was too extreme for two wheels, MacAskill would carry his Santa Cruz full suspension bike over his shoulders on two feet. The online clip drew rave reviews on social media.

“Ever since I was a kid growing up on Skye I have always dreamt about riding a bike up on the Cuillin Ridge," MacAskill told Pink Bike, a biking website. "The project took a lot of planning and was probably one of the most physically demanding films I have ever worked on! It was definitely a labor of love though as I wanted to show off the island for how it is and make everyone who lives there proud to be from this amazing part of the world.”
