Video Transcript

KEVIN IOLE: Hey, folks, it's Kevin Iole from Yahoo Sports. We're at T-Mobile Arena UFC 264. Just ended a few minutes ago. Dustin Poirier in dramatic fashion finishes Conor McGregor.

Poirier dropped McGregor with about 10 seconds left in the first round. Went in to land some [? grounding pound. ?] McGregor landed very awkwardly, fell back on his ankle. It appeared that McGregor's left ankle had broken.

McGregor sat on the canvas after the bell. [INAUDIBLE] Poirier went to his corner. Referee heard Dean, went over to check on Conor. Somebody in the corner said he couldn't continue. He obviously had an injury.

The fight was stopped. Dustin Poirier was the winner. He wins the trilogy two fights to one. Poirier went off as a 130 favorite at BetMGM. McGregor was at plus 1.

And the line didn't move basically all day. There was some really good action back and forth on the fight, so the line stayed where it was. Poirier had a lot of difficulty early in the fight. McGregor opened with a spinning back kick that Poirier avoided. Then he was throwing some big shots early.

But Poirier kind of got his groove once they went down to the ground, and then things really changed for after that point. Conor went for a guillotine. And he was the guy that said he didn't count wins by the submission.

He went for a guillotine. Poirier got out of it. And after that from that point on, about two minutes in, so 30 seconds remaining in the round, it was all Dustin Poirier. Dustin Poirier wins the main event of US 264.

In the co-main event, it was even Stephen Thompson defeated by unanimous decision by Gilbert Burns. So Gilbert Burns, the number two rank welterweight, wins 29-28 on all three parts. For Yahoo Sports at T-Mobile Arena, I'm Kevin Iole.
