Auburn quarterback T.J. Finley arrested Thursday

Auburn quarterback T.J. Finley was arrested Thursday and charged with attempting to elude police. He was booked at the Lee County detention center.

According to Justin Lee of the Opelika-Auburn News, he has made bond and is no longer in the detention center.

Finley, who started three games last season, was the Tigers’ top quarterback throughout spring practice and was set to compete for the starting job in fall camp. Auburn players reported to campus Thursday for meetings and practices are set to begin Friday.

Finley started his career at LSU before transferring to Auburn ahead of last season. In nine games he completed 70-of-128 passes for 827 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception.

He was set to compete for the starting job in fall camp with Texas A&M transfer Zach Calzada, Oregon transfer Robby Ashford, and true-freshman Holden Geriner.

Bryan Harsin and offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau are set to speak with the media later Thursday afternoon.
