Andy Murray says his recovery is going well but would 'give back being No 1 in world just to be back playing'
Andy Murray says he is recovering much quicker than expected from hip surgery and hopes to be back on court "very soon".
The British No 1 also revealed that he would "give back being No 1 in the world just to be back playing on the court" during a frank question and answer session on social media.
Murray was forced to pull out of the Australian Open and then underwent hip surgery in Melbourne to address the long-standing injury.
The 30-year-old has since returned to the UK to recuperate but, struggling with jet-lag took to Twitter to answer fans' questions this morning.
Murray was in jovial mood as he was quizzed on a wide range of topics from how his recovery was going to how many languages he now speaks. "I've almost learned English," was his reply to the latter.
I'm the only up with #jetlag anyone got a question for me? #askandy

Murray, who was world No 1 from November 2016 to August 2017, was asked what should be done to reduce the amount of injuries to players and answered: "Less mandatory events."
He was also quizzed on whether men's matches at grand slams should be best of three contests rather than it's current state of best of five.

"If it's what the people want then it's worth a try," he said. "I don't mind either way. Best of three is easier on the body and would help longevity. Best of five tests mental and physical side more."
Murray is confident of returning for the grass-court season and would dearly love to be fit to play at Wimbledon.
When asked which his favourite major was he added: "That's like having to choose between your four best friends to be best man at your wedding...Love them all but I've known Wimbledon the longest."
